After Treatment

The majority of our patients leave the office with a temporary filling in the access.  This temporary is only meant to last for up to two weeks.  Once your root canal therapy is complete you will need to follow up with your general dentist for any permanent restoration.

Patients have mild tenderness with the tooth following treatment, anywhere between two days up to two weeks.  We would like you to be ahead of any inflammation, it is recommended to take Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen for two days following treatment.  Most discomfort is treated with these over the counter medications.  If additional medication is advised Dr. Chow will discuss this with you upon completion of your treatment.

Should you experience pain that cannot be controlled with the above listed medications or you become unexpectedly swollen please contact our office.

During business hours please call our office at (253)845-6190.  After hours instructions to reach the Endodontist will be on the phone message.

Your tooth is more prone to fracture immediately after endodontic treatment.  You should chew on the other side until your restorative dentist has placed the permanent restorations.
